Women's Volleyball Downs La Salle on the Road

PHILADELPHIA --- Senior middle blocker Assata Conway and freshman outside hitter Khaila Donaldson combined for 27 kills to help the Howard women's volleyball team earn a 3-1 victory the LaSalle Explorers on Tuesday evening at LaSalle's Tom Gola Arena.

Conway was extremely effective as an attacker in the game, logging her 10 kills with a  .529 hitting percentage. Donaldson led all players with 17 kills, the third time she posted a game high in kills in four career games.

Three players posted double-digit digs - senior libero Allyson Lods (game-high 22), sophomore outside hitter (14) and sophomore libero Morgan Marlbrough (12) - and senior setter Stephanie Shultis added 43 assists.

Howard (2-2) stayed even with LaSalle in the first set, playing to a 7-7 tie early on. An 8-3 surge by LaSalle (2-3) put the Explorers ahead 15-10 and the home team would hold off the Lady Bison, 25-22.

In set two, Howard hit .342 and sided out at a 84 percent clip to win the set 25-19 and even the match heading into the break.
