NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton senior Vendula Strakova was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week. Florida A&M’s Pamela Soriano earned Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.
Strakova (So., RS, 6-0, Brno, Czech Republic) recorded 39 kills, 23 digs, and four blocks in matches against Norfolk State and Morgan State. She registered 24 kills and 12 digs against Morgan State in a 3-1 victory.
Soriano (r-Fr., OH, 5-10, Santo Domingo, Puerto Rico) logged 16 kills and seven assists with a .500 hitting percentage against South Carolina State. She also registered 12 kills and eight digs in a 3-0 win against Savannah State, helping Florida A&M finish a perfect 2-0 week.

Khaila Donaldson (Howard) notched her sixth double-double on the season with 13 kills and 10 digs against Delaware State.
Jasmine Jackson (DSU) set a career-high 22 digs against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Rakaya Neely (BCU) recorded seven blocks in a 3-0 win versus South Carolina State.
Paige Phillips (NCCU) totaled 26 assists in matches against Elon and North Carolina A&T.
Alana Polk (UMES) recorded eight kills and four blocks in a 3-2 win against Delaware State.
Ariel Richard (CSU) matched her season-high of 21 kills against Morgan State.
Hazel Ortiz Rosado (BCU) accumulated 87 assists in matches against Stetson, South Carolina State, and Savannah State.
Brooke Stamnes (NCAT) earned her fifth double-double of the season with 16 kills and 14 digs against North Carolina Central.
Ksenia Sukhareva (UMES) registered 20 kills and 15 digs in a 3-2 victory against Delaware State.
Zuri Smith (MSU) logged 14 kills and four blocks in a 3-1 win over Coppin State.
