MEAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY CROSS COUNTRY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – University of Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Khalil Rimidi Kinnini was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Male Cross Country Performer of the Week. Florida A&M junior Effiey Kosgei earned the Female Performer of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Kinnini (So., Malaga, Spain) placed first in the 8K Cappy Anderson Invitational, logging a time of 25:26.87. His time is the fastest in the MEAC this season, and the win marked his third consecutive first-place finish.

Kosgei (Jr., Eldoret, Kenya) recorded the MEAC’s fastest time of 18:02.03 in the 5K this season at the Mountain Dew Invitational, which is also a personal best.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Barbora Blahutova (UMES) won her second straight race with a time of 18:33.06 at the Cappy Anderson Invitational.

Ce’Aira Brown (Hampton) clocked in the fourth-best time of 19:19.07 at the 5K Cappy Anderson Invitational.

Stanley Davis (Hampton) recorded a time of 28:15.16 in the 8K at the Cappy Anderson Invitational.  

Dieumy Duclos (FAMU) registered a time of 28:47.08 at the 8K Mountain Dew Invitational.

Desmond Fogg (NSU) ran a personal-best time of 26:52.85 at the 8K Cappy Anderson Invitational.

Miranda Green (NCAT) logged a time of 19:11 in the 5K at the Wolfpack Invitational.

Kesha Medas-King (CSU) finished 11th at the Cappy Anderson Invitational, with a time of 19:56.59.

Rachel Webb (NSU) turned in a personal-best time of 19:51.35 at the 5K Cappy Anderson Invitational.

Darren White (NCAT) crossed the finish line at the 15:59 mark at the 5K Wolfpack Invitational.
