Fortunately for the Coppin State men’s cross-country team, it will have two weeks to recover from the grueling Oregon Ridge Park course. The sunny and breezy weather conditions were ideal for course featuring numerous hills.
Michael James was 14th overall (29:56.53) and Fabian Hayles was 15th (30:00.28). Delroy Davis placed 18th overall (31:33.93). Hayles, a strong middle distance runner, is getting used to running cross-country for the first time since 11th grade.
Navy’s Josh Hanna was the overall race winner crossing the finish line in 26:36.55. Coppin State head coach Carl Hicks was encouraged with his team’s effort.
Coppin State returns to action on Friday, October 3 when it runs at Delaware State University.
