MEAC ANNOUNCES CROSS COUNTRY WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va., September 17, 2014 – Bethune-Cookman senior Ricy Brown was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Male Cross Country Performer of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore’s Barbora Blahutova earned the Female Performer of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Brown (Sr., Clearwater, Fla.) sliced off over two minutes of his season-best time of 25:42.65 to place second at the UCF Cross Country Invitational. His time helped the Wildcats to a third-place finish.

Blahutova (So., Slavkov, Czech Republic) captured first in her UMES debut at the Delaware State Invitational with a time of 18:03.2. Her time helped the Lady Hawks to a second-place finish.

 

Other Top Performers: 

Ce’Aira Brown (Hampton) logged a time of 19:32.60 at the William & Mary Invitational.

Karen Escobedo (MSU) set a personal-best time of 18:06.8 at the 5K Delaware State Invitational.

Miranda Green (NCAT) crossed the finish line in 19:38, helping her team capture third place, at the Elon Invitational.

Khalid Rimidi Kinini (UMES) won his second consecutive race, with a time of 18:54.3, at the Delaware State Invitational.

Nyajock Pan (BCU) turned in a season-best performance, with a time of 20:17.16, at the UCF Cross Country Invitational. 

Darren White (NCAT) finished fifth at the 8K Elon Invitational with a time of 27:21.
