Former Lady Bulldogs to Participate In International Volleyball Camp

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Former SC State volleyball players Alyse Lewis and Desire Waller were selected to participate in the 2014 Women’s Firesale & Exposure Camp in Maribor, Slovenia from August 8-17. The camp is a showcase for volleyball players who hope to sign professional contracts with European volleyball teams.

Lewis and Waller played for the Lady Bulldogs from 2010-2013. Waller was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and was a three-time All-MEAC selection.

When asked about her future and the opportunity to play professionally, Lewis had this to say: “The normal thing to do when you graduate is to go back to school or get a job. Neither one of those seemed to catch my interest. So I thought long and hard and asked myself, "What am I good at and what do I love doing?” The first thing that came to mind was volleyball! Coach Val (SCSU head coach Valerie Jones) introduced me to a company called Bring It Promotions. Before I knew it, I was signed up to go on a tour in early August. My summer consisted of hard training and getting in shape. If I could give anyone advice, I would tell them to never give up, follow your passion, be your biggest fan, and keep God first!”

Bring It Promotions is a multifaceted sports agency tour operator and tournament organizer that places over 100 players per year (men and women) in over 20 countries worldwide and running up to 40 tours and several tournaments annually across the globe.
