NCCU's Enoch to participate in NCAA ACE Forum

DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central University women’s basketball associate head coach Ronnie Enoch has been selected to participate in the 2014 NCAA-Black Coaches and Administrators Achieving Coaching Excellence (ACE) Forum on June 12-14 in Indianapolis, Ind.

Enoch has spent his 10-year collegiate coaching tenure alongside head coach Vanessa Taylor starting with eight seasons at Johnson C. Smith University, a Division II institution, where they posted an impressive 162-78 overall record from 2004-2012. The duo made the Division I transition together at NCCU during the summer of 2012.

“We are extremely excited about this opportunity for coach Enoch,” said Taylor.“I have had the pleasure of coaching side-by-side with him for the last 10 years. It has been an awesome journey coaching with someone as passionate as he is. Together we have been able to help educate and develop many young women through the game of basketball. Without a doubt, I know he will shine as one of the stars in this year’s class at ACE.”

The ACE Forum is an educational setting where individuals who have been identified as potential head basketball coaches, by administrators and head coaches in the membership, will simulate the intercollegiate interview process from researching the position to their first staff meeting after becoming a head coach.

Participants at the program will learn a realistic view of head basketball coach’s role, collegiate athletics and the level of preparation necessary, while getting exposure to and networking with current head basketball coaches, university presidents and directors of athletics from NCAA member institutions and engaging in various formats of mock interviews with key decision makers in the institutional hiring process.

The ACE Forum is administered by the Leadership Development Department in partnership with the Black Coaches and Administrators (BAC), and supported by the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics and NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interest Committee.
