ORLANDO, Fla. --- The Howard University football program was honored on Monday afternoon at the Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Awards Luncheon with one of the organization's 2013-14 Academic Progress Rate (APR) awards.
The ceremony took place during the 2014 NACDA and Affliates Convention in Orlando.
The Bison posted a 931 APR score, the highest in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Howard was one of 13 award recipients, each of which represented their respective FCS conference.
"It is an honor to receive the FCS Athletics Directors Association award for the highest Academic Progress Rate in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference," said Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator Shelley Davis-Hill, who accepted the award on behalf of Howard."I believe it is a direct reflection of the hard work of our football student-athletes."
"It also shows that our coaches and administration are placing an importance on academics within the student-athlete experience."
