DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University women’s tennis team continued its home success as the Lady Eagles (5-12, 3-3 MEAC) furthered their two-year home streak sweeping Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe North Carolina A&T (2-13, 0-6 MEAC) on Thursday, April 10 on the NCCU Tennis Courts in Durham.
The rookie pair of Lynsey Cover and Tamara Jeremic cleared the courts first knocking off the Aggies Lexxux Betts and Kiana Washington 8-1 at the No. 3 spot.
Sophomores Aissa Muamba and Mia Ramic clenched the NCCU doubles points after defeating the No. 2 NCAT duo of Kenya Colbert and Saundra Smith 8-1.
Leading the Aggies 1-0, four Lady Eagles had clean sweeps during singles action.
Junior Rebecca Wood retied Colbert at the No. 1 spot, Jeremic was victorious over Smith at the No. 4 while Ramic and Cover took down Betts and Washington at the No. 5 and six respectively.
Tuesday, April 15 marks the 2014 regular-season finale for the Lady Eagles as NCCU hosts the Mouth Olive Trojans during a 3 p.m., non-conference battle on the NCCU Tennis Courts.
