NORFOLK, Va. – Howard’s Ismael Kaouache and Bethune-Cookman’s Chinatsu Kajiware were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Friday. Bethune-Cookman’s Alvaro Barrera was named the Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Week.

Kaouache (Fr., Casablanca, Morocco) was victorious in straight sets against North Carolina Central 6-3, 6-3.

Kajiware (Jr., Fukuoka, Japan) went a perfect 3-0 at No.1 in singles matches, and went 2-1 in doubles matches.  

Barrera (Fr., Madrid, Spain) went 3-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles, including a straight set victory against Chicago State and Appalachian State.
