Swails leads Coppin State past Delaware State
BALTIMORE, Md. - Jordan Swails had been in a spell. Her shooting was far from swell. However, she came out of her shell and Delaware State couldn't answer the bell.
Swails made her first two shot attempts from the field and never looked back in delivering a performance to remember. She was part of complete team effort that helped Coppin State defeat Delaware State, 81-54 in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball game Monday night.

Sophomore Janelle Lane showcased a variety of offensive moves around the basket to finish with 19 points and six rebounds. Her best highlight was a twisting spin move that would have made Hakeem Olajuwon proud and corkscrewed a DSU defender into knots.

Coleman passed LaKesha Willis and into seventh place on the all-time Coppin State scoring list. She has 1,127 points in her marvelous career. Sophomore guard Amber Griffin was virtually flawless in directing Coppin State's show. The feisty 5-3 Griffin finished with nine assists, seven points and three steals in 37 electric minutes. Coppin State finished with a season-high 25 assists on its 34 baskets.
Sophomore Omaah Tayong, celebrating her 21st birthday, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
