B-CU ends streak, tops Mount St. Mary?s

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman snapped a three-match losing streak with a 6-1 victory over Mount St. Mary’s Tuesday afternoon at City Island.

The Lady Wildcats (3-6) dropped just seven games in three matches to secure the doubles point, than posted five strong victories in singles.

Chinatsu Kajiwara picked up her first singles victory of the year at No. 1 singles, while Elizabeth Nwenye won her second straight at No. 3. Maria Sablina, Gaby Chinchilla and Maria Dimitrova also posted singles wins.

Mount St. Mary’s dropped to 4-4.

On the men’s side, Bethune-Cookman remained winless at Mount St. Mary’s posted a 4-3 decision Tuesday afternoon at City Island.


Santiago Lobelo, Gilbert Rotich and Greg Almeida registered wins for the Wildcats, now 0-8.
