Norfolk State Home Baseball and Softball Tournaments Undergo Schedule Change
NORFOLK, Va. – Due to inclement weather forecast for the Norfolk area on Friday, the Norfolk State baseball and softball programs have made changes to their respective home tournament schedules.
Baseball’s Spartan Classic will now have three games on Saturday and just one on Friday instead of two-and-two. NSU’s contest against Buffalo on Friday has been moved up to 10 a.m., while its Saturday game against Quinnipiac will now start at 6 p.m.
Villanova and Quinnipiac were scheduled to play on Friday as well, but that game will now take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Buffalo-Villanova contest scheduled for Saturday morning has been moved up to 10 a.m. as well.
Sunday’s schedule has not changed.
The softball program will host the Spartan Clash this weekend, but all of Friday’s games have been cancelled. Each team will now play three games between Saturday and Sunday, with five total games the first day and four the next.
NSU will now play Yale at 11 a.m. and Wagner at 1 p.m. on Saturday and La Salle at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Delaware State alters weekend baseball and softball schedules
DOVER, Del. --- The forecast for rain on Friday has forced some changes to Delaware State University’s weekend baseball schedule.
The Hornets will now open their 2014 season with games against Iona and Bucknell on Saturday at the Wesley College baseball field in Dover. Delaware State will take on Iona at 11:00 a.m. at the Wesley Field. The Hornets will play Bucknell at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley.
On Sunday, Iona and Bucknell will play at Wesley starting at 10:30 a.m. The Hornets will face Iona again on Sunday at Wesley beginning at 2:30 p.m.
The softball team will open the Spartan Clash on Saturday as the Hornets will face La Salle (3 p.m.), followed by a doubleheader on Sunday against Fairleigh Dickinson (9 a.m.) and Wagner (1 p.m.).
Coming into the Spartan Clash, DSU sits at 2-2 after its outing at the Pirate Snow Classic, hosted by East Carolina, last weekend.
