NORFOLK, Va. – Florida A&M’s Jasmine Grice was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Delaware State’s Raven Bankston was selected as the Rookie of the Week, while Norfolk State’s Rachel Gordon earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Grice (G, 5-10, GR., Quincy, Fla.) totaled 72 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and nine steals as the Lady Rattlers were 1-1 in games last week. Grice scored 30-plus points in back-to-back contests for the first time in her career, registering 34 points in their 78-72 win against Savannah State, and 38 points against North Carolina A&T. Grice also shot 40-percent (26-of-64) from the field and finished with a combined performance 14-of-17 from the free-throw line.
Bankston (G, 5-7, Fr., Detroit, Mich.) shot 49-percent (3-of-7) from beyond the 3-point line and registered 26 points, five rebounds and three assists against South Carolina State.
Gordon (F, 6-0, Sr., Woodbridge, Va.) grabbed 17 rebounds in 33 minutes in a 64-63 win against Morgan State. Gordon also dropped in 19 points, including a putback as time expired, to lift the Spartans to the win.

Alyssa Bennett (Hampton) registered a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards in a win against Howard.
Ashleigh Claybrooks (UMES) averaged a double-double of 14 points and 10.5 rebounds in games against North Carolina Central and Coppin State.
Kenia Cole (Hampton) averaged 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals in games against Morgan State and Howard.
Kyra Coleman (CSU) finished with a career-high 30 points, to go along with nine rebounds, in a 80-64 win against Maryland Eastern Shore.
Malia Tate-DeFreitas (Hampton) averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds last week in wins against Morgan State and Howard.
Shavonne Duckett (Howard) poured in 16 points and grabbed seven boards in a loss to Hampton.
Cabriel Duren (SCSU) recorded 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 64-60 win against Delaware State.
Te’Shya Heslip (Howard) registered 15 points, four assists and four steals against Hampton.
Tracy King (NCAT) finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 59-50 loss to Coppin State.
Jessica Long (UMES) scored 14 points and recorded five assists in a win against North Carolina Central.
Mariah McCoy (UMES) recorded a career-high 27 points and eight rebounds in a 68-61 non-conference win against NJIT.
Tierra Prothro (FAMU) registered a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds in a 70-64 win against South Carolina State.
Danielle Robinson (MSU) finished with 14 points and four assists in a loss to Delaware State.
Chastity Rene Taylor (BCU) poured in 29 points and seven boards in a 64-56 win against South Carolina State.
Kailyn Williams (BCU) finished with a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds in a win against North Carolina Central.
