MEAC ANNOUNCES BOWLING WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – Maryland Eastern Shore senior Mariana Alvarado was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Alvarado (Sr., Leon, Mexico) led entire field individually in pinfall and overall average at the MEAC Northern Division Meet #2 to help the Lady Hawks to a 10-0 record. She registered 1,145 total pins and a 229.0 average in five traditional matches. Alvarado rolled a high of 262 in a 1,105-634 win over Coppin State.

Natalee Armstrong (B-CU)
averaged a 212.25 pinfall, including rolling four consecutive games of 200 or better, at the MEAC Southern Division Meet #2.

Briana Evans (MSU) totaled 971 pins, including a season-best high of 245 in an 809-705 victory over Hampton, at the MEAC Northern Division Meet #2.

Michele Harper (FAMU) rolled a 224 in a 954-917 win over Bethune-Cookman at the MEAC Southern Division Meet #2.

Emily Strombeck (NCAT) pinned a tournament-high average of 219.5 and a career-high 269 in a win over Florida A&M at the MEAC Southern Division Meet #2.

Kelsea Yarbrough (NSU) registered the third-highest average of 215.0 at the MEAC Southern Division Meet #2.
