PARKS NETS CAREER-HIGH 33 POINTS TO LEAD NCCU OVER BARBER-SCOTIA, 108-52
DURHAM, N.C. – Jordan Parks recorded a career-high 33 points to top five Eagles scoring in double figures, as North Carolina Central University cruised to a 108-52 win over Barber-Scotia College on Wednesday night inside McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
Parks, a 6-7 senior forward out of Queens, New York, added 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots for his fourth double-double in the last five contests.
The Eagles extend their home winning streak to 26 games and have now scored more than 100 points in all three home games this season. NCCU broke a 65-year-old school record by out-scoring College of Faith 123-65 in the home opener on Nov. 18, then beat Johnson & Wales 101-38 on Dec. 2.
NCCU hits the road again to play Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 20 and Jackson State on Dec. 22, before returning home on Dec. 29 to host IUPUI at 7 p.m.

MAY EXPLODES FOR 48 POINTS TO LEAD HORNETS PAST TERRIERS 72-64
BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - Amere May scored a career-high 48 points, the second most in team history, to lead Delaware State to a 72-64 men's basketball victory over St. Francis Brooklyn today.
May was 16-for-25 from the field, including six-of-10 from three-point territory; and 10-for-10 at the free throw line.
His point total was the most by a Hornet since Tom Davis set the team record with 50 against Brooklyn College on Feb. 1, 1989; and is tops among all NCAA Division I players this season.
Delaware State was 25-for-50 from the field (50%), including 10-of-16 on three-point shots (62.5%).
The Hornets were 12-for-14 at the free throw line (85.7%), while the Terriers hit 13 of 17 from the stripe (76.5%).
The Hornets will play the third of a four-game road swing at Oregon in their next outing this Saturday (Dec. 20). Game time is 3 p.m. ET in Eugene, Ore.

PIRATES FALL TO ILLINOIS ON THE ROAD
URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Hampton University men's basketball team suffered through a cold stretch in the second half Wednesday evening en route to a 73-55 loss to Illinois at the State Farm Center.
The Pirates (4-6) had their three-game winning streak snapped.
Redshirt junior guard/forward Dwight Meikle and junior guard Deron Powers each had 12 points to lead the Pirates, while Meikle added seven rebounds. Guard Quinton Chievous added 10 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The Pirates shot 34.8 percent (23-for-66) from the floor and hit seven of their 15 3-pointers (46.7 percent). Hampton went just 2-for-9 from the free throw line. Hampton turned Illinois over 16 times, resulting in 13 points.
The Pirates will return to the HU Convocation Center on Friday to take on Tennessee State at 7 p.m.
