NORFOLK, Va. – Jessica Long of Maryland Eastern Shore was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Braennan Farrar of Morgan State earned Rookie of the Week honors, while UMES’ Alexis Udoji was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Long (G, 5-6, Sr., Fort Washington, Md.) shot 73-percent (8-of-11) from the free-throw line to finish with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals in a 58-43 conference win over North Carolina A&T State.
Farrar (G, 5-6, Fr., St. Louis, Mo.) averaged 18.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists against Hampton and Stony Brook. She registered 21 points and two assists in a loss to Stony Brook.
Udoji (C, 6-4, Jr., Randolph, Mass.) finished with 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in Maryland Eastern Shore’s 58-43 conference win over North Carolina A&T State. Offensively, she added 14 points to register her fourth double-double of the season.

Jasmine Coleman (SCSU) recorded eight points, seven rebounds, two blocks and two steals in a win against Bethune-Cookman.
Kendra Cooper (B-CU) set a career high with seven 3-pointers in a conference loss to South Carolina State.
Bria Harris (CSU) recorded 14 points, eight rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in a loss to Mount Saint Mary’s.
Te’Shya Heslip (HOW) posted 18 points, on 5-of-8 shooting, with three rebounds in a win over North Carolina Central.
Tyler Hobgood (HAM) grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with eight points in a 63-43 win over Morgan State.
Sydni Johnson (HOW) registered 14 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a loss to LIU Brooklyn.
Ryan Jordan (HAM) shot 75-percent (9-of-12) from the floor to finish with 19 points in a 63-43 conference win over Morgan State.
Lexus Spears (MSU) grabbed 11 rebounds in a 50-48 non-conference loss to Stony Brook.
