HAMPTON, Va. – For the third time this season, Hampton University rightside Vendula Strakova has been recognized by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), as she was named ECAC Div. I Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Strakova totaled 71 kills in three matches this past week for the Lady Pirates (15-10, 8-1 MEAC), including a career-high and school-record-tying 33 kills in Sunday’s five-set loss at Howard. She hit .355 for the week, recording two double-doubles in the process.

She also had 17 digs and four aces against Howard, and she also had an 18-kill, 17-dig performance in Thursday’s non-conference sweep over Manhattan.
