NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton senior Vendula Strakova was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Players of the Week. Florida A&M’s Pamela Soriano earned Rookie of the Week honors, for the third consecutive week, the conference announced on Monday.
Strakova (RS, 6-0, Sr. Brno, Czech Republic) totaled 71 kills and 43 digs in a 2-1 week. In a five-set loss to Howard, Strakova registered 33 kills and 17 digs, and also tallied a double-double of 18 kills and 17 digs, in a 3-0 non-conference victory against Manhattan.
Soriano (OH, 5-10, R-Fr. Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) registered 36 digs and 31 kills against North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central. She recorded a double-double of 20 digs and 19 kills in a 3-1 victory against N.C. A&T.

Kirby Anderson (SCSU) logged 11 kills in a 3-0 win over Savannah State.
Samara Brown (NCAT) registered 20 assists and 14 digs in a five-set victory against Bethune-Cookman.
Khalia Donaldson (HOW) tallied 14 kills and 13 digs in a five-set victory over Hampton.
Whitney Fields (HOW) totaled 20 kills, including 17 in a five-set win over Hampton.
Kirstin Fink (UMES) recorded 32 kills and 17 digs against East Carolina, Morgan State, and Coppin State.
Te’Borah Hawkins- Hollingsworth (NCAT) logged 15 kills in a 3-2 victory against Bethune-Cookman.
Jasmine Jackson (DSU) totaled 12 kills and nine digs in a four-set loss to Coppin State.
Kelsey Murphy (NCCU) tallied 23 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 loss against Florida A&M.
Rakaya Neely (B-CU) recorded 20 kills in a five-set loss to North Carolina A&T.
