North Carolina A&T rolls past Johnson C. Smith
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The North Carolina A&T women's basketball team played 13 players, had four of them reach double figures and shot 47 percent from the field in a 76-45 blowout of Division II Johnson C. Smith Tuesday night at Corbett Sports Center.
Redshirt junior Eboni Ross led the Aggies with 15 points on 6-for-6 shooting. Three of her four rebounds came on the offensive end. Fifth-year guard Debbie Smith added 12 points and nine rebounds while Christina Carter and Adriana Nazario added 10 apiece.
The Aggies (3-1) trailed 5-0 early in the game, but put together an 11-1 run capped off by a drive and dish by Carter to Ross. A&T never trailed again. The Golden Bulls (4-1) stayed within striking distance throughout most of the first half. Shanequa Phifer's 3-pointer made it 27-21 with 6:04 remaining in the first half. Kayla Green quickly answered with a three followed by Quenswayla Story jumper that put the Aggies up by double figures. Nazario ended the half with a layup, giving the Aggies a 36-24 halftime lead.
Dana Brown opened the second half with a three to put JCSU away. Ashley Porter led JCSU with eight points.

Lady Pirates fall to Washington State
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University women’s basketball team led for much of the first half in its home opener on Tuesday against Washington State, but the Cougars took control before halftime en route to a 74-60 win at the HU Convocation Center.
The Lady Pirates fell to 0-4 on the season.
Sophomore guard Malia Tate-DeFreitas led the Lady Pirates with 20 points, hitting three of her six 3-pointers, while senior guard Kenia Cole added 13 points and a career-high eight assists.
Redshirt junior forward Tyler Hobgood grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Redshirt junior forward Brielle Ward grabbed eight rebounds to go along with seven points.
The Lady Pirates shot 33.9 percent (21-for-62) from the floor and made seven of their 21 3-pointers (33.3 percent). Hampton out-rebounded the Cougars (4-1) 43-41.
The Cougars shot 44.3 percent (27-for-61) from the floor and made five of 18 3-pointers (27.8 percent).
Tia Presley led Washington State with 36 points.
The Lady Pirates will kick off a three-game road swing on Tuesday, when they head to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on Lehigh at 11 a.m.

Lady Hawks soar to victory over Cheyney
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Before the Thanksgiving break, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women’s Basketball Team soared to victory as they defeated Cheyney (Pa.), 63-38, inside the William P. Hytche Athletic Center. Maryland Eastern Shore picked up their first victory on the season and snapped a five-game skid, dating back to last season.
With the victory, the Lady Hawks improved to 1-4 on the season while Cheyney fell to 1-3 overall.
All eleven Lady Hawks scored in the game, led by Alexis Udoji notching her third double-double on the season, 11 points and 11 boards. Senior guard Shawnee Sweeney had a game-high 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals in the win.
Other notable Hawk performances included Moengaroa Subritzky tallying nine points and five boards while New Jersey-product Taryana Kelly added seven points and a season-high nine rebounds in the win.
Senior guard Jessica Long reached another milestone as she surpassed Rachel Goodwin (2003-06) on the UMES all-time assist leaders. The Fort Washington-native owns the ninth spot with 210 career assists. Long ended her night with eight points, seven steals, and three boards.
For the Lady Wolves, Lila Jones had a team-high 12 points while shooting 50-percent from the field (4-of-8). Ellis posted seven points and a team-high eight rebounds in a losing effort.
Maryland Eastern Shore looks to make it two-in-a-row as they continue their home stand next Wednesday (12/03). UMES hosts in-state rival Mount St. Mary’s. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
