TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida A&M Women’s Volleyball team won the final three sets here Tuesday to take a 3-2 non-conference victory over Jacksonville University in their season finale at the Al Lawson Center.
FAMU (13-15) trailed 2-0, as Atlantic Sun Conference champion Jacksonville (19-14) won the first two sets, 26-24 and 25-21, before the Lady Rattlers rallied to win the next two sets, 25-17 and 25-21, before holding off the Dolphins in the clinching set, 15-12.
MEAC Rookie of the Year Pamela Soriano led the way for FAMU with 24 kills and 12 digs, with Yeshia Arcia added 15 kills and 15 digs. Senior Joanie Del Castillo had 21 digs.
Sammie Strauusbaugh had 13 kills for Jacksonville, with Emily Laskelle adding nine kills and Kelly Koop finishing with eight.
