MEAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY CROSS COUNTRY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va. – North Carolina A&T sophomore Darren White was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Male Cross Country Performer of the Week. Maryland Eastern Shore sophomore Barbora Blahutova earned the Female Performer of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.

White (So., Waldorf, Md.) logged a new personal-best time of 26:01 at the 8K Robert Shumake HBCU Challenge. White’s time helped the Aggies finish first out of 18 teams at the race.

Blahutova (So., Slavkov, Czech Republic) notched her third straight win with a time of 18:28.8 at the 5K Delaware State Farm Run Invitational. Blahutova’s first-place finish helped UMES win its second straight meet.

 

Other Top Performers:

Adugna Desalegn (NSU) ran a personal-best time of 19:18 at the 5K Delaware State Farm Run Invitational.

Desmond Fogg (NSU) ran a time of 26:59 at the 8K Delaware State Farm Run Invitational.

Miranda Green (NCAT) finished sixth with a time of 19:29 at the 5K Robert Shumake HBCU Challenge.

Khalil Rmidi Kinini (UMES) won his fourth consecutive race with a time of 25:00 at the 8K Delaware State Farm Run Invitational.

Effiey Kosgei (FAMU) ran a time of 18:43.08 at the 5K Flrunners.com Invitational.

McDaniel Olivier (FAMU) placed eighth with a time of 17:30 at the 8K Flrunners.com Invitational.
