North Carolina A&T ranked 13th in NTCA Preseason Poll

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The North Carolina A&T bowling team is ranked 13th in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) 2014-15 preseason poll, announced by the organization.

The Aggies made history last year as they entered the national ranking for the first time under the 2013-14 MEAC Coach of the Year, James Williams, and peaked to 13th at season's end.

The University of Nebraska is the NTCA’s choice as the NCAA’s No. 1 team heading into the 2014-15 season. The Huskers, who finished as national runner-up last spring, had 11 of the 23 first place votes and 664 points to poll ahead of second place Arkansas State, who garnered four first place votes and 613 points.

Defending NCAA champion Sam Houston State was third with seven first place ballots (572 points),followed by Vanderbilt, which had the remaining first place vote and 542 points. Maryland-Eastern Shore, the MEAC 2013-14 MEAC champion was fifth (524) followed by Central Missouri (456), Fairleigh Dickinson(444), Wisconsin-Whitewater (360), Stephen F. Austin (315) and St. Francis (Pa.) (272).

The next five schools are Sacred Heart (182), Kutztown (176), North Carolina A&T (161), LIU Brooklyn (134), and Valparaiso (121).Rounding out the final five teams in the poll are Mckendree (110), Saint Francis College (65), Alabama State (46), Delaware State (43), and Monmouth (29).

A&T opens its 2014-15 schedule on Friday, Oct. 31 at the FDU Jamboree in Elmwood Park, N.J.
