UMES Lady Hawks move up game time vs. NJIT

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -- The UMES Women’s Basketball Team will take on the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) today at 2:00 p.m.  This is two hours earlier than the originally scheduled time.  The game was moved up due to the winter weather conditions that forced many area schools, including UMES to close or cancel classes for the day.

“We wanted to make sure the game was coming to a conclusion before it got colder at night and the driving conditions worsened,” said Director of Athletics Keith Davidson.  “With the officials and NJIT already in the area we knew we could go ahead and play the game today as scheduled.  With classes cancelled, the students can come out and support their Lady Hawks.”

UMES (3-13) is starting a home stand and this is their last non-conference game this season.  This is just the fifth home game for the Lady Hawks this season.  They are 2-2 overall in Princess Anne.  NJIT (5-18) is on a three game skid and are 1-10 on the road, including a loss in overtime to UMES rival Delaware State.
