MEAC Announces Bowling Weekly Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – Maryland Eastern Shore’s Marianna Alvarado was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Alvarado (Jr., 5-7, Leon, Mexico) averaged over a 211 pinfall in team games in helping the Lady Hawks to its third straight Kutztown Invitational championship. Alvardo was also selected to the All-Tournament Team as she rolled three consecutive strikes in the 10th frame of the championship match’s six game to secure the one-pin win and championship against No. 7 Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Thea Aspiras (NSU)
was named MVP of the Kutztown Invitational after averaging 222.8 total pinfall.

Felicia Baker (BCU) registered her highest tournament average of the year (206.3) at the Kutztown Invitational.

Stephanie Sheridan (DSU) rolled a career-best six-game total (1,232) for a 205.3 average pinfall at the Kutztown Invitational.

Emily Strombeck (NCAT) averaged a 202 pinfall, with a high of 247 against No. 18 Monmouth, at the Kutztown Invitational.
