NORFOLK, Va. – Adama Adams of South Carolina State was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. James Daniel, of Howard, earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Hampton’s Du’Vaughn Maxwell earned Defensive Players of the Week.
Adams (G, 6-1, 175, sr., Dakar, Senegal) averaged 18.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in a pair of conference wins last week for the Bulldogs. Adams recorded 13 points, three rebounds, and eight assists in a two-point win over Bethune-Cookman. He also poured in 23 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win over Norfolk State.
Daniel (G, 5-11, 165, Fr., Hampton, Va.) scored 31 points, hitting 56-percent from the field, including four shots from long range in a 69-62 win over Florida A&M. He also hit 9-of-11 free throws with one rebound and one steal in 28 minutes of play.
Maxwell (F, 6-7, 215, Sr., Manhattan, N.Y.) averaged 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals in a pair of conference games last week. He grabbed 12 boards with three blocks and two steals while playing the entire game against Morgan State. He also hauled down nine boards, with two blocks and one steal in a win over Savannah State. Offensively, he averaged 20.5 points, connecting on 46-percent from the field.

Jamie Adams (FAMU) averaged 16.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in two conference games last week.
Emanuel Chapman (NCCU) recorded a combined 23 points, 13 rebounds, 16 assists, three blocks and two steals in a pair of conference wins against North Carolina A&T and Coppin State.
Ian Chiles (MSU) totaled 33 points, 17 rebounds, one assist, four blocks and two steals, in games against Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T last week.
Brandon Goode (NSU) finished the week averaging 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in two conference games.
Kendall Gray (DSU) scored nine points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked eight baskets in a loss to North Carolina A&T.
Malcolm Hawkins (NSU) averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals in games against Coppin State and South Carolina State.
Jeremy Ingram (NCCU) averaged 22.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals in two games last week.
Prince Okoroh (Howard) registered 21 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in a win over Florida A&M.
Clemmye Owens (BCU) scored 20 points, hitting 8-of-13 from the field, with one rebound, two assists, and one steal against Maryland Eastern Shore.
