The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced the 2013-14 basketball television schedule today with an exciting selection of men’s and women’s competitive matchups on multiple ESPN platforms.
As part of its agreement with ESPN, the MEAC will highlight three men’s and one women’s basketball regular season games.
The 2014 MEAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament will also broadcast on ESPNU with the men’s championship game airing live on Saturday, March 15 at 6 p.m. The women’s game is slated for a taped-delayed broadcast on Sunday, March 16 at 11 a.m., and will also broadcast on ESPNU.
The 2013-14 television schedule tips off on Monday, January 20 with the defending MEAC men’s basketball champion North Carolina A&T Aggies playing host to Delaware State in Greensboro, N.C. The two teams will face off live at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
The Hampton Lady Pirates, the reigning MEAC women’s basketball champion, will match up against the Morgan State Lady Bears Monday, January 20 at 6 p.m. on ESPN3. The Lady Pirates are 12-4 overall, 3-0 MEAC and have wins this season over Kansas State and Virginia Tech.
On Monday, January 27, the Norfolk State Spartans travel to Savannah, Ga., to take on the Savannah State Tigers in a 7 p.m., contest on ESPNU, and the Hampton Pirates hit the road on Monday, Feb. 3 to face the Morgan State Bears in Baltimore, Md., with a 7 p.m., tip-off on ESPNU.
