Eagles drop home contest to Alabama State
DURHAM, N.C. - In spite of leading for majority of set three, the North Carolina Central University volleyball team could not overpower the Alabama State Hornets, who rallied to a three-set (25-18, 25-14, 26-24) win over the Eagles on Sunday in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
The Eagles were led by the offensive efforts of senior Kalin Russell and junior Da’sha Brown, who finished the contest with seven kills apiece. Contributing to the offensive effort was junior Alice Genna who collected 12 assists. Russell added a game-high three blocks, two solo, while Brown led NCCU with six digs on the defensive end.
