Lady Rattlers down South Carolina State, 3-1
ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The Florida A&M Volleyball team won their third straight match as the Lady Rattlers defeated South Carolina State, 3-1 (22-25, 25-10, 25-8, 25-14), here Sunday afternoon at Dukes Gymnasium in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.
FAMU (5-6, 2-0 MEAC) had four Lady Rattlers to finish in double-digit kill as Yeisha Arcia recorded a team high 16 kills, followed by both Andrea Soriano and Katherine Huanec with 11 each, while Gina Lopez-Chavez added 10. Diana Gonzales led the Lady Rattlers in digs with 44, while Arcia led the team in digs with nine.
SCSU (1-14, 1-1 MEAC) was led by Desire Wallier with 18 kills, followed by Marissa Lawrence with six. Melanie Williams dished out 29 assists, while both Waller and Shandice Sluch led the teams in digs with six.

Simon paces Bethune-Cookman past Savannah State
SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Rhea Simon had 10 kills and two service aces as Bethune-Cookman snapped an 11-match losing streak Sunday with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division victory over Savannah State.
Delicia Pierre added seven kills, while Destiny Hudson and Phylecia Armstrong each posted four as the Lady Cats (2-15 overall, 1-1 MEAC) never trailed in the final two sets.
Alexas Thomas finished with 22 assists, two service aces and eight digs. Normarie Rolon added eight digs, and Jill Alraud had two blocks.

NSU Overcomes Mistakes to Down Coppin State, 3-0
NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State volleyball team overcame some mistakes on its part but got key plays down the stretch to take care of Coppin State, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in a conference matchup at Joseph Echols Hall.
NSU committed 32 attack errors overall, including 14 in the first set alone that allowed the Eagles to stay in the match. After the Spartans won the first set in extra points, 26-24, they finished the contest with 25-22, 25-23 wins in the final two sets.
The Eagles had 26 kills and hit .052, while the Spartans tallied 44 kills on a .094 attack percentage.
Janay Frazier had five kills in that second set and finished with eight overall. Jessica Johnson led all players with 11, and Jasmin Flowers also joined her in double figures with 10.
The Eagles finished with 19 digs, while sophomore Darcy Moore added nine digs and 40 assists.
Coppin State had a 9-1 advantage in blocks. Nicole Malave led the Eagles with seven kills.

Hampton tops Morgan State to remain unbeaten in conference play
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team made quick work of Morgan State on Sunday afternoon in Holland Hall, taking a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) to remain unbeaten in conference play.
The Lady Pirates (8-7, 2-0 MEAC) have won three straight matches.
Junior rightside Vendula Strakova again led the way, tallying 23 kills and hitting .618 for the match, thanks to just two errors in 34 total attacks. Junior middle blocker Marija Kocevska had six kills and a team-high three service aces.
Sophomore outside hitter Allysa Medina added seven kills, while junior outside hitter Krista Kraskura added six kills and a team-high eight digs.
Senior setter Bibiany Fonseca had 37 assists, eclipsing 1,500 for her career at Hampton. She was honored during the match for the milestone.
