Bears Open Play at ITA All-American Championships Saturday

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Morgan State University men’s tennis team travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete in the 2013 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships.

Sophomore Evan Ward and junior Duk Young-Park will kick off action on pre-qualifying on Sat., Sept, 28. All matches will be played at the University of Tulsa’s Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Ward is scheduled to play against Andrew Schafer from the University of South Carolina, while Bear teammate Young-Park begins competition against Yannick Junger of the University of Texas San Antonio. With wins in their first matches, both Ward and Young Park would advance to play again Saturday afternoon.

Following the completing of pre-qualifying and qualifying matches on Wed., Oct. 2, a field of 64 single players and 32 doubles teams will then compete in the main draw on Oct. 3.

The ITA All American is the only individual Division I national tournament besides the NCAA Championships.
