NORFOLK, Va., September 25, 2013 – Norfolk State senior Damtew Adnew and sophomore Faith Summey were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s (MEAC) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Athletes of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Adnew (Sr., Springfield, Va.) captured the individual title with a time of 26:18.14 at the Cappy Anderson Invitational 8K meet, as he helped guide the Spartans to a first-place finish.
Summey (So, Eldoret, Kenya) won the Cappy Anderson Invitational with a time of 19:00.90 as she helped the Spartans to a first-place finish.

Ricy Brown (BCU) led the Wildcats to a first-place finish at the Bethune-Cookman Beach Invitational with a time of 16:41.46.
Rachel Halmon (UMES) finished seventh, with a time of 20:17.00, at the Cappy Anderson Invitational.
Nichelle Harris (Hampton) finished eighth at the William & Mary Invitational with a time of 19:11.70.
Je’Von Hutchinson (Hampton) placed ninth at the Virginia Union Invitational with a time of 27:28.00.
Khalil Rimidi Kinini (UMES) finished sixth at the Cappy Anderson Invitational with a time of 27:39.13.
Effiey Kosgei (FAMU) won the Bethune-Cookman Beach Invitational with a time of 19:43.62.
Elisha Metto (Howard) placed second, with a time of 26:36.14, at the Cappy Anderson Invitational.
Roriann Nalls (Howard) completed the 5K Cappy Anderson Invitational in sixth place with a time of 20:04.90.
Terrell Oliver (DSU) finished 16th during the 8K Cappy Anderson Invitational with a time of 28:42.01.
Nyajock Pan (BCU) placed fourth, with a time of 20:07.81, at the Bethune-Cookman Beach Invitational.
Geoffrey Sambu (FAMU) finished fourth, with a time of 25:43.56, at the Georgia State Invitational.
