Florida A&M Tops Bethune-Cookman 12-4

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman concluded its 2013 regular season Monday with a 12-4 loss to Florida A&M in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division game at Sunnyland Park.

The Wildcats (17-33 overall, 11-3 MEAC) led 3-1 after two innings, but the Rattlers (19-30,10-4) took control with a six-run third en route to their second win of the three-game series.

Bethune-Cookman had clinched the MEAC Southern Division and its No. 1 seed in this week’s conference tournament with a 12-3 win on Sunday.

Kelsey Rodney and Sophia Ortega each had two hits and scored a run for the Wildcats. Leadoff hitter Calesha Shelley accounted for two runs while Aurelia Gamch and Melissa Berouty had a RBI.
