NCCU Women's Tennis defeats NCA&T in Home Finale

DURHAM, N.C. - North Central University women’s tennis team swept Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe North Carolina A&T in a 7-0 victory while also tying the Lady Eagles all-time season win record of 11 on in Durham, N.C., on the NCCU Tennis Courts.

During doubles action Palko and rookie partner Aissa Muamba defeated the No. 2 spot defeating NCA&T’s April Burrage and Jayla Scott 8-0. The sophomore duo of Ekaterina Nekrasova and Rebecca Wood defeated the Lady Aggie combination of Kimberly Stallings and Victorea Austin 8-3 giving the Lady Eagles the doubles victory and 1-0 lead.

In singles play Muamba remained unbeaten in MEAC play (6-0), with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over NCA&T’s Austin.

Wood also was victorious defeating Unique Hawkins at No. 4 followed by No. 1 Palko’s 6-2, 6-0 victory over Stallings, Nekrasova defeating Scott 6-2, 6-0 as No. 2 and Mia Ramic sweeping Burrage in the No. 5.

The 7-0 victory advances the Lady Eagles to 11-7 overall on the season and 5-1 in conference play.
