SC State Softball Assistant Nakeya L. Hall Receives NCAA Women Coaches Academy Scholarship

Atlanta, Ga. - SC State softball assistant Nakeya L. Hall is one of 80 full scholarship recipients to attend the 2013 Summer Women Coaches Academies. The NCAA Women Coaches Academy is open to all female head and assistant coaches from all NCAA sponsored sports at NCAA member institutions.

Hall is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with the SC State softball team.  She was also four-year letter-winner at State (1999-2003) during which time she earned numerous honors including being named the Offensive and Utility Player of the Year as well as being named to several all-tournament team selections. She also earned a MEAC Player of the Week honor during her playing days.

The purpose of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy is to provide skills training for coaches at all levels to assist them in being more efficient, productive, resourceful and successful. The academy is designed for women coaches who are ready and willing to increase their individual effectiveness by learning advanced skills and strategies that directly affect their personal and team success. The participants learn skills that are not sport specific, yet ones that are relevant and necessary for coaching responsibilities, beyond the X’s and O’s. It has three main objectives; Skills Development, Retention and Mentoring.

The Academy will be held June 24-28, 2013 in the Dolce Conference Center located in Peachtree City Georgia.
