Florida A&M's C. Salif Kante and South Carolina State’s Maria Craciun were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week for matches played March 11-17, the conference announced on Tuesday. South Carolina State’s Kiara Dohnalova and Jiri Stiburek were named the Women’s and Men's Rookies of the Week, respectively.
Kante (Sr., Dakar, Senegal) posted a five-match win streak with wins over Bucknell, Colgate, North Carolina Central and Puerto Rico. Kante won in straight sets over each opponent and improved to 13-2 on the season at the number one singles position.
Craciun (Sr., Pitesti, Romania) teamed with Kiara Dohnalova to post an unblemished mark in doubles play at 4-0 with victories against Creighton, Jackson State, Gonzaga and George Mason. She was also undefeated in singles action to help lead the Lady Bulldogs.
Dohnalova (Fr., Trinec, Czech Republic) aided the Lady Bulldogs as she went undefeated in doubles play with partner Maria Craciun and was also undefeated in singles play at the number three position, picking up wins against Creighton (7-5, 6-2), Jackson State (6-1, 6-0), Gonzaga (6-2, 6-1) and George Mason (6-1, 6-0).
Stiburek (Fr., Prici Nad Sazavou, Czech Republic) recorded singles wins against Jackson State (6-3, 6-1), Robert Morris (6-2, 6-1), Army (6-3, 6-1), Quinnipiac (6-0, 6-4) and George Mason (6-4, 7-6). He teamed with Tomas Bizon to add doubles victories over Jackson State, Robert Morris and Quinnipiac as the Bulldogs improved to 9-2 overall this season.

Tomas Bizon (SCSU) was 2-2 in singles play with victories over Jackson State and Robert Morris.
Aissa Muamba (NCCU) won both singles matches versuse UNC-Charlotte and Longwood at the number three singles position.
Olesya Palko (NCCU) was undefeated with a 2-0 mark in singles play and 1-0 record in doubles action against UNC-Charlotte and Longwood respectively.
Symone Townsend (FAMU) grabbed a pair of wins as she defeated Chicago State’s Vivience Noel and Marist’s Melissa Carlay.
