North Carolina A&T to Face Liberty in NCAA First Four

NORFOLK, Va. - North Carolina A&T State University will face Liberty University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, March 19 in Dayton, Ohio.

The game will be televised live on truTV, featuring Marv Albert as the play-by-play announcer and former NBA player Steve Kerr managing the color analysis, beginning at 6:40 p.m. ET.  The winner will face top seeded Louisville on Thursday, March 21 in Lexington, KY.

N.C. A&T (19-16) entered tournament play as a No. 7 seed and won its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament title since 1995 on Saturday with a 57-55 win over Morgan State.  The Aggies will be making their 10th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and earned the tournament's automatic berth winning four games in five days.

Liberty (15-20) will be making its third appearance, first since 2004, in the NCAA Tournament.  The Flames (No. 5 seed) defeated No. 1 seeded Charleston Southern, 87-76, in the Big South Conference title game to earn its ticket to the Big Dance.  The Flames are the third NCAA Tournament team to get to the post season playoffs after starting its season 0-8 or worse and the second team in history to make the tournament with 20-plus losses.

The matchup will be the second MEAC meeting for the Flames this season.  Liberty was defeated by Morgan State, 67-62, in November.  Tuesday will mark the first ever meeting with the Aggies.

Ticket information will be released at a later time.
