Bethune-Cookman's Gilbert Kibet and Shereen Peterson-Paul were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week the conference announced on Wednesday. Maria Dimitrova of Bethune-Cookman received Women's Rookie of the Week, while Dzmitry Zyhmantovich or Norfolk State was named Men's Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Kibet (So., Nairobi, Kenya) concluded the week with a 5-2 mark against Florida Southern, Palm Beach Atlantic, and The Citadel. Kibet won in straight sets in singles play against Florida Southern and Palm Beach Atlantic and came back to win the third set and match against the Citadel's Elliott Sperr.
Peterson-Paul (Sr., Toronto, Canada) was 3-0 in singles action and 2-0 in doubles play to guide the Lady Wildcats to a 3-0 mark last week. Against Jacksonville, she posted a two-set victory and teamed with Victoria Galyaeva to capture the doubles point, 8-3.
Dimitrova (Fr., Sofia, Bulgaria) aided the Lady Hawks to a 3-0 record against Palm Beach Atlantic,Coastal Georgia and Jacksonville. For the week, Dimitrova was 5-1 over, including a 3-0 record in singles play.
Zyhmantovich (Fr., Minsk, Belarus) won the singles point 6-0, 3-0, retired in a non-conference win against Hampton. He also earned the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at the number one position.

Mi'Kola Cooper (MSU) had a 3-1 combined while playing at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles against George Mason and Navy.
Rebecca Graff (NSU) tallied a 2-0 mark in singles play in non-conference wins over Hampton and North Carolina A&T.
Ekaterica Iakovelva (MSU) won twice in both singles and doubles play against George Mason and Navy last week.
Sandra Kristjansdottir (SSU) captured the singles point at the No. 1 position and partnered with Nicole Ashiedu for the win against Albany State.
Andrea Macchiavello (NSU) captured singles and doubles wins against Hampton and North Carolina A&T.
Umarah Mughnee (Howard) was 1-1 last week with a 7-5, 6-4 win at the No. 3 singles position against George Washington.
Jayla Scott (NCAT) lost a two set match 6-2, 7-6 (15-13) against NSU's Mafalda Lhorca.
Katelyn Stokes (Howard) won a three-set match 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 against George Washington in singles action.
Kimberly Stalling (NCAT) partnered with Nianna Henry in doubles play in a loss to Norfolk State.
