HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton University men's basketball team will square off against St. Peter's (N.Y.) on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. at the HU Convocation Center as part of the ESPN Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters.
This will mark the second straight BracketBusters game for the Pirates; they fell 68-64 at Delaware last season. The game will be sandwiched between road conference games against Maryland Eastern Shore (Feb. 20) and Delaware State (Feb. 25).
The game will not be televised.
The Pirates (8-13, 5-3 MEAC) are in the midst of a three-game winning streak, having defeated Coppin State 59-53 on Monday. As of Monday, Saint Peter's is 7-15 overall and 2-10 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), having lost nine of its last 10 games.
Hampton and Saint Peter's have never faced each other.
The Pirates are 0-9 all-time against schools currently in the MAAC; Hampton has never faced Canisius, Fairfield, Loyola (Md.), Saint Peter's, or Siena.
