LaTavia Riley earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors in softball, the conference announced on Wednesday. South Carolina State's
Vianney Gomez was named the Pitcher of the Week, while Hampton's
Bobbi Langlois earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Riley (UTL, 5-0, Sr., West Columbia, S.C.) scored five runs off of two hits in two victories for the Lady Bulldogs. She batted a perfect 1.00 with one triple and three RBI. Riley added two assists and one putout in the victories.
Gomez (P, 5-4, Jr., Antioch, Calif.) earned the win against Benedict with a 0.00 ERA last week. She pitched five innings allowing three hits and no runs. Gomez did not allow any walks and struck out six of the 19 batters she faced.
Langlois (P, 5-9, Fr., Medina, Ohio.) led the Lady Pirates offensive effort with a .538 batting average (7-for-13). She tallied three doubles, nine RBI and added five assists. On the mound, Langlois struck out 11 of the 90 batters she faced in 16.2 innings of play.

Cianna Burt (SCSU) hit .666 against Benedict with one RBI and nine putouts behind the plate.
Shamaria Engram (B-CU) batted .417 in five games with three RBI and 52 putouts.
Brielle Gordon (FAMU) was perfect (3-for-3) with one double in a 1-0 loss to Texas-Arlington.
Madison Hedderly (SSU) pitched in 18.0 innings for the Lady Tigers and posted a 5.83 ERA to finish 2-1 last week.
Kelly Hunter (FAMU) picked up the win with a .000 ERA in 2.0 innings in a 5-4 win against South Carolina.
Shanel Tolbert (B-CU) tallied a 2.10 ERA, including 10 strikeouts in five games for the Lady Wildcats.
Torrian Wright (SSU) was 2-for-3 (.667) with two doubles and two RBI against Charleston Southern.
