Trenece Nash earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week honors in softball, the conference announced on Tuesday. South Carolina State's
Vianney Gomez was named the Pitcher of the Week, while Savannah State's
Torrian Wright earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Nash (3B/C, 5-6, Fr., Decatur, Ga.) batted .583 with seven hits, three doubles and nine RBI in four games for the Lady Hawks. In the season opener against St. Peter's she hit a RBI single to break a tie that led to the 5-4 victory. She also added four putouts and seven assists defensively.
Gomez (P, 5-4, Jr., Antioch, Calif.) picked up five wins in the circle with a 0.66 ERA last week. The junior pitched a combined 21.33 innings striking out 14 of the 89 batters faced. In a three-game span against Kentucky State, Winston-Salem State and Clark Atlanta, Gomez recorded a 0.00 ERA while allowing five hits, no errors and walking three in nine innings of action.
Wright (DP, 5-6, Fr., McDonough, Ga.) led the Lady Tigers to a 3-1 mark last week with a .454 average at the plate. She was 5-for-11 with three home runs and five RBI. Against Thomas, she tallied two hits, three RBI and two homeruns.

Shannon Baity (SCSU) was 3-for-4 with five RBI and one home run in five games at the Claflin Tournament.
Cianna Burt (SCSU) recorded a double and a home run while batting .500 in an 8-2 win against Winston-Salem State.
Simone Ceasar (B-CU) hit .500 (6-for-12) and added 10 putouts and six assists in four games for the Lady Wildcats.
Carmen Gurrola (UMES) was 3-0 with a 3.20 ERA in 19.2 innings against St. Peter's.
Madison Hedderly (SSU) pitched in 16.2 innings for the Lady Tigers and posted a 2.59 ERA to finish 2-1 last week.
Jailynn Jackson (Hampton) led the Lady Pirates at the LSU Tiger Classic with a 3.55 ERA in 12.2 innings.
Jennifer Lindsey (FAMU) pitched three scoreless innings and tallied a 0.00 ERA in a 4-1 loss to Jacksonville.
Katherine Stewart (SSU) hit .417 with three doubles and three RBI to aid the Lady Tigers to a 3-1 mark last week.
