NSU Sweeps Hampton, 7-0

NORFOLK, Va. -Norfolk State picked up its first win of the season with a 7-0 non-conference victory over Hampton on Friday afternoon at the Centre Court Racquet Club in Newport News, Va.

The Spartans improved to 1-3 while Hampton dropped to 0-1 on the season.

In the doubles matches junior Peter Rastromer-Pello and freshman Dzmitry Zyhmantovich defeated Advait Kirtane and Park Wan-Young, 6-4, at the No. 1 doubles spot. At the No. 2 doubles spot sophomore Igor Braga and freshman Robin Riethmueller came out with an 8-2 victory over Alvin Fludd and James McQueen. Sophomores Daniel Grauel and Samuel Lemberger finished up the doubles matches for the Spartans with an 8-1 win against Andrew Williams and Lakshmana Satchithananthan.

Braga got things started for the Spartans in the singles matches with a 6-4, 7-6 over Park. Zyhmantovich competed in the No. 2 spot where he came out with a 6-0, 3-0 win over Kirtane. In the No. 3 singles match Riethmueller defeated Fludd, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Peter Rastromer-Pello beat Satchithananthan, 6-0, 6-0. In the No. 5 singles spot Grauel came out with a 6-4 win over McQueen. Lemberger finished up the singles matches for NSU with a 6-2, 5-2 win.
