NORFOLK, Va., December 30, 2013 – Hampton guard Kenia Cole was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, while teammate Nicole Hamilton was selected the Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Sydni Johnson, of Howard, earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Cole (G, 5-4, Jr., Silver Spring, Md.) poured in 19 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 71-50 victory over Brown. She shot 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field and set a career-high with five 3-pointers.
Johnson (F, 6-1, Fr., Homewood, Ill.) averaged 10.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in a pair of non-conference games. Johnson was 4-of-8 from the field to drop in 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the College of Charleston. She registered seven points and seven rebounds in a 63-55 win against Wofford.
Hamilton (G, 5-8, Sr., Hampton, Va.) guided the Lady Pirates defense in a non-conference win against Brown. She grabbed five rebounds, dished out seven assists, had five steals and blocked four shots. Hamilton also chipped in with 13 points.

Kyra Coleman (CSU) totaled 35 points, nine rebounds, five steals and three assists in games against Virginia and Alabama.
Tiyonda Davis (SSU) dropped in eight points, on 4-of-7 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds in a 93-84 win against Troy.
Victoria Gonzalez (Howard) poured in a career-high 24 points, along with eight rebounds, against the College of Charleston.
Rachel Gordon (NSU) finished with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds in a 56-43 win against UMBC.
Jasmine Grice (FAMU) registered 20 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 62-52 win against Fairleigh Dickinson.
Te’Shya Heslip (Howard) averaged 10.0 points, 7.0 assists, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in non-conference games against College of Charleston and Wofford.
Ezinne Kalu (SSU) finished with 22 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in a 93-84 win against Troy.
Koryn Lawrence (NSU) dropped in six points on 3-of-5 shooting, and added two rebounds in a 56-43 win against UMBC.
