NORFOLK, Va., December 10, 2013 – North Carolina A&T sophomore Emily Strombeck was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Strombeck (So., Durham, N.C.) led the Lady Aggies in traditional team games and finished with the highest pinfall average with a 208.5 out of 26 bowlers. Strombeck rolled four 200-plus games, including a high of 215 against North Carolina Central, to help the Lady Aggies post a 3-1 mark during the opening day of the MEAC Southern Divisional #2 Meet.
Other Top Performers:
Felicia Baker (BCU) averaged a 195.5 pinfall, and bowled a game-high 223 against Florida A&M at the MEAC Southern Divisional #2 Meet.
Katherine Jones (FAMU) led the Lady Rattlers in total pinfalls (776), and bowled a team-high of 222.
Sara Pelayo (UMES) averaged a 212 pinfall, and bowled a 243 against Coppin State at the MEAC Northern Divisional #2 Meet.
Nicole Rivera (NSU) averaged a 208.8 pinfall, and rolled a 214 against Bethune-Cookman at the MEAC Southern Divisional #2 Meet.
