Lady Hornets Fall To Houston In Second Straight Ot Contest
Houston, Texas --- Delaware State trailed by 10 points and half, but forced overtime on a last second shot before falling to Houston 71-58 at Hofheinz Pavilion this afternoon.
The Lady Hornets (3-11), playing their second overtime contest in less than a day, were outscored 16-3 in the overtime period. DSU defeated Houston Baptist 84-83 on a last-second shot in overtime on Saturday evening.
Delaware State trailed 30-20 at the break, but outscored the Cougars 35-25 in second half. Houston led 55-52 when DSU's Chelsea Dukes nailed a three-point shot as time expired in regulation to force the overtime.
Tasia Bristow was high scorer for the Lady Hornets with a season-high 20 points. She was 7-for-15 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point territory. Bristow has scored in double-figures in three of the last four games.
Tierra Hawkins came off the bench to add 10 points, while Keyanna Tate had nine points and a team-high nine rebounds for the Lady Hornets.
Houston's Porsche Landy led all players with 30 points. Alecia Smith added 16 points, while Yasmeen Thompson had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars, who improved to 6-7 this season.

Bennett Helps Lady Pirates Sink American In Ot
WASHINGTON, D.C. -Hampton came back on more than one occasion in the second half Sunday afternoon in Bender Arena, forcing overtime before beating American 61-58 at the buzzer.
Junior forward Alyssa Bennett drained a 3-pointer from the corner as the buzzer sounded to give the Lady Pirates their 11th victory of the season.
Bennett led all scorers with 18 points, while senior forward Keiara Avant added 12 points and 13 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. Junior guard Nicole Hamilton added 12 points and five assists.
The Lady Pirates shot 34.8 percent (23-for-66) from the floor and hit just two of their 16 3-pointers, as well as 13 of their 19 free throws. Hampton scored 22 points off of 19 American turnovers.
The Eagles shot 38.6 percent (22-for-57) from the floor and out-rebounded Hampton 44-41.

The Aggies (9-5) had three players score in double-figures in the contest, including seeing a season-best 14 points from sophomore guard Adriana Nazario and a season-high 11 from redshirt freshman Eboni Ross against the Colonials (6-8).
