Morgan State men's tennis team got two singles victories from freshman Evan Ward and finished 0-3 during the Bears opening weekend at the VCU 4x1 Invitational.
Making their first-ever appearance in the Invitational, the Bears fell 5-0 in the opening match against Campbell on Saturday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. The Bears were defeated 4-1 by the Richmond Spiders during the afternoon session as Ward's 6-2, 6-2 victory against Debastian Fauchet would end up being MSU's only win of the match.
The Bears took the court against Longwood on Sunday afternoon in the final match of the Invitational. Their only victory of the day came in the #3 singles position, as Ward posted his second win of the weekend by defeating Longwood's Harry Kelleher 6-4, 7-5.
