Rattlers Fall 4-3 To South Alabama Jaguars At FSU Tourney

Florida A&M  (0-3, 0-0 MEAC) had another close call as they were outlasted 4-3 by the South Alabama Jaguars at Florida State's Scott Speicher Tennis Center.  The Rattlers started slow, giving up the singles point, but fought back in the singles, going down to a match that went all the way to a tiebreaker before the Jaguars captured the victory.

2012 MEAC Player of the Year Salif Kante (3-0S/2-1D) disposed of USA's Gerhard Gruindelingh 6-1,6-2 at the No.1 slot.  Takura Happy (1-2S/2-1D) and Kante defeated Gruindelingh and Daniel Leitner 8-6 to score the Rattlers' lone doubles point.

Happy defeated Cody Hall 6-2, 6-3 in singles play at the No.4 slot.  Chidi Gabriel (1-1S/2-1D) defeated Daniel Leitner 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 in the No.2 slot.  Gabriel would fall in doubles as he and Admire Mashonga (0-3S/2-1D) were defeated by USA's Alexandre Bernard and Shayann Vaezzadeh 8-6.  Mashonga would also be defeated in singles  6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at the hands of Bernard.

Temuera Asafu-Adjaye (0-3S/0-1D) and Zach Evenden (0-1S/0-1D) dropped the final singles match of the evening 8-6 to Cody Hall and Blake Gregor.  Asafu-Adjaye was defeated by Gregor 6-3, 7-6(5), while Evenden fell to Vaezzadeh 6-1, 6-1.
