Kalu Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Savannah State junior point guard and current SSU women's basketball point's leader, Ezinne Kalu, suffered a season-ending knee injury on December 21, 2012 in a game against the University of Florida.

An MRI revealed Kalu has an ACL tear.  She will undergo surgery this week to repair the knee. She is expected to miss the remaining 14 games of the 2012-13 season.

In her freshman year, the Newark, New Jersey native, scored 401 points, and in her sophomore year she topped that effort with 529 points, leading the team both years. Earlier this season, Kalu became the first women's basketball player in SSU Division I history to break 1,000 career points.
