DUSTIN ALPERT NAMED NCCU MEN?S BASKETBALL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

DURHAM, N.C. - The North Carolina Central University men's basketball program has announced another addition to the current staff as head coach LeVelle Moton has named Dustin Alpert director of basketball operations.

"Dustin is the hardest worker that I've been around," said Moton.  "His passion and eagerness along with his incredible work ethic are major bonuses for this program, and we are excited to have him be a part of the Eagle family."

Alpert joins the staff from Pfeiffer University where he was director of basketball operations and an assistant coach for the NCAA Division II institution.  At Pfeiffer, Alpert coordinated film exchange with opposing teams and handled many of the day-to-day operations of the program.

Prior to his stint at Pfeiffer, Alpert was an assistant coach at Menlo College in Atherton, Calif., where the Oaks won the 2011 California Pacific Conference regular season title.  It was Menlo's first regular season title in nine years and only the third in the program's history.

Before his time at Menlo, he spent one year in 2009-10 as head coach at the high school level and two years, 2008-10, at the junior high stage at BASIS Tucson, while attending the University of Arizona.  Alpert also led both school's to their first ever appearances in the playoff's semifinals.  The native of North Hollywood, Calif., graduated from the University of Arizona in 2010 with a degree in Social and Behavioral Science.
