The 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) cross country season begins this weekend with 10 of the 13 men's and women's cross country programs in action.
The defending MEAC champion Norfolk State Spartans and Hampton Lady Pirates will travel to Newport News, Virginia on Friday to compete at the Christopher Newport Open.
Bethune-Cookman and Savannah State will compete in the Jacksonville University Duel meet on Friday. Coppin State men's and women's teams will also open up their seasons on Friday at the Baltimore Metro Invitational.
Other MEAC teams in action during the conference's opening weekend include: Florida A&M women's team (Troy Invite) and South Carolina State (South Carolina Gamecock Invite).
Maryland Eastern Shore will host their UMES Lid-Liter Invitational on Saturday. Delaware State and Morgan State will travel to Princess Anne to compete in the event.
The 2012 MEAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be held Saturday, October 27 in Princess Anne, Md on the campus Maryland Eastern Shore.
