The NCAA Division I Administrative Cabinet has announced the appointment of North Carolina Central University Director of Athletics Dr. Ingrid Wicker-McCree to the NCAA Research Committee.
The NCAA Research Committee consists of athletics administrators and faculty who collaborate with NCAA research department staff to produce high-quality research on issues related to college athletics. This research is seen by member colleges and universities as crucial to facilitating an environment of informed decision making on matters of NCAA policy and procedure.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to serve on the NCAA Research Committee," said Wicker-McCree. "A part of our responsibilities as Division I members is to take advantage of opportunities to serve the membership. I look forward to working with the NCAA staff and other NCAA institutional members over the next few years to continue finding ways in which we can best serve our students."
A native of Durham, N.C., Wicker-McCree is in 18th year at NCCU, including her fourth as Director of Athletics. She previously served as the associate athletics director for internal affairs and as head coach for volleyball and softball.
Among her many prior committee appointments, she served as a member of the NCAA's Division II Legislation Committee from 2003-07.
